Elizabeth Porter and her family

Her Story

Elizabeth and her husband Andrew have been married for 23 years and are the proud parents of two children, Erin and Drew. Elizabeth has a strong record of service and accomplishment in our community. In her first-ever run for elected office, Elizabeth became a member of the Columbia County Commission in 2004 and later was selected by her peers to serve as Chair. Working together with her fellow commissioners and community leaders, Elizabeth successfully worked to bring over $30 million in new salaries to the area, all the while protecting our community from higher taxes. Elizabeth is proud to have been appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to serve on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Third Circuit and on the Florida State Medical Examiner’s Commission. In addition to her service in public life, Elizabeth has actively volunteered in the community, serving as Chair of the United Way Campaign in 2007 and on the American Cancer Society High Five Board of Directors.

Education

Elizabeth graduated from Columbia High School and earned an A.A. degree from Lake City Community College and a B.A. degree from Florida State University. She was born and raised in Columbia County, and she has been living, working, and raising her family in the Lake City area for over 30 years.

Career

Elizabeth Porter currently works as a partner in Professional Electronic Revenue Consulting (PERC), a medical billing and consulting firm in Lake City. She formerly worked as a Territory Manager for Carnation and Nestle Foods, an Account Manager for Schering-Plough, and a District Supervisor for Procter and Gamble.
